At the Limmernsee mountain station there are two options. The tunnel route leads through the long underground passage directly to the lake, from where you follow the rocky trail uphill towards the Muttenchopf. The alternative route goes left through the door in the rock and follows the high path through the mountain and cliff landscape above the lake until both routes meet at the Muttenchopf area.
