From the top station of the Ebenalp cable car, follow the hiking trail downhill. After about 15 to 20 minutes, you reach the legendary mountain restaurant Aescher, which nestles directly into the sheer cliff face. Right in front of it, a staircase leads down. Below it lies a flat plateau with a unique view of the Alpstein massif.
