"Lenzburg Castle lies in the canton of Aargau on a dominating castle hill (508 m) and is one of Switzerland's oldest and most impressive castles. For over 1,000 years this fortification has stood at the height and shaped European history from the Middle Ages to modern times. The castle complex today houses the Museum Aargau and tells Switzerland's history family by family, century by century.

The museum offers various thematic exhibitions: the Historical Museum shows development from the Middle Ages to the 19th century. A children's museum with medieval workshops and armor fascinates younger visitors. Fairy Tale Castle tours invite time travel. The castle garden invites for walks. From the bastions there are wonderful views of the Limmat valley and surroundings. Restaurants and cafés at the castle complement the visit.

The castle is easily accessible: from Lenzburg railway station it's a 20-30 minute walk up through the old town. Several bus lines go directly to the castle (Line 391, approximately 8 minutes from the station). By car: Lenzburg exit from the A1, then up to the castle. Parking under the castle for a fee.
