La Tine de Conflens is a hidden rock gorge in the canton of Vaud, where the Venoge stream flows through a narrow limestone basin and creates a natural rock theatre of white stone. The place is little known outside western Switzerland but offers one of the most surprising natural settings on the Swiss Plateau: rushing waterfalls, smooth-polished limestone and the turquoise water of the Venoge in a narrow grotto.
A short walking trail from the small town of Orbe leads to the gorge in around 30 minutes. The path is easy and suitable for families. La Tine de Conflens is particularly impressive after rainfall, when the water shoots forcefully through the narrow rock basin. The nature reserve is accessible year-round.
La Tine de Conflens is close to the small town of Orbe on the Vaud plateau. Orbe is reachable by train from Lausanne in around 45 minutes. By car, take the A1 motorway, Orbe exit. Parking at the starting point of the walk.
