The Berglistüber is an imposing waterfall in the Linthal in the canton of Glarus, plunging in a single cascade over around 100 metres of sheer cliff face. The fall is one of the most impressive in eastern Switzerland and is particularly dramatic in early summer when snowmelt swells the water into a roaring veil.
A developed trail from the hamlet of Tierfehd in the Linthal leads to the viewing platform near the waterfall in around 30 to 45 minutes. The path is also suitable for families. The combination of the waterfall, the narrow valley section and the wild Glarus mountain landscape creates a striking setting. The Berglistüber is close to the Limmerensee and works well as part of a day hike in the upper Linthal.
The Linthal and Tierfehd are reachable by PostBus from Schwanden or Glarus. Glarus is accessible by train from Zurich in around 1 hour. By car, drive from Glarus through the Linthal to Tierfehd.
