The Schreyenbach Waterfall plunges around 100 metres down a vertical rock face near Tierfehd at the head of the Linthal valley in the canton of Glarus – and is one of Switzerland's most unusual falls: it flows for only a few weeks each year. The water of the Fisetenbach has been diverted for power generation since the 1960s.

Under an agreement between WWF Glarus and the Linth-Limmern power company, the stream is returned to its old bed for around 45 days in high summer – and the fall then thunders at full force again. Outside those weeks only a thin trickle remains. The fall is clearly visible from the road to Tierfehd, and a short path from the valley station of the Kalktrittli cable car leads to its foot.

The Schreyenbach Waterfall lies at the head of the valley above Linthal in the municipality of Glarus Süd. Linthal is reachable by train from Ziegelbrücke in around 35 minutes, and the journey from Zurich takes around 1.5 hours. A PostBus runs from Linthal to Tierfehd.
