Bettmeralp is a car-free holiday village at around 1'950 metres with direct access to the Aletsch Glacier – the largest glacier in the Alps. The village sits on a sunny slope above the Rhône Valley and offers one of the finest panoramic positions in the region: church, timber houses and restaurants blend harmoniously into the alpine landscape without the feel of mass tourism.

From the village, the glacier edge can be reached on foot in around 30 minutes, or by cable car up to the Bettmerhorn and the Aletsch panorama trail. In winter, Bettmeralp forms part of Aletsch Arena, one of the largest ski resorts in the Valais. In summer, trails lead to the Märjelensee, Moosfluh and Riederalp. The village is lively year-round and known for its relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.

From Betten valley station in the Rhône Valley, a gondola ascends to Bettmeralp in around 8 minutes. Betten is reachable by train from Brig or Visp. Parking is available at the valley station.
