The Harder Kulm at 1'322 metres is the local mountain of Interlaken and offers one of the Bernese Oberland's most celebrated views: from the panoramic platform with its cantilevered «Two Lakes» walkway, visitors look out simultaneously over Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, the townscape of Interlaken and the trio of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.

The mountain station houses a restaurant with panoramic terrace and the glazed overhanging walkway, perfectly placed for unforgettable photos. Those wishing to walk up from the town centre should allow around 1.5 hours. In summer, marmots can often be spotted in the surroundings. The Harder Kulm is popular year-round and particularly rewarding at sunset.

From Interlaken Ost, the Harderbahn funicular ascends to the summit in around 10 minutes and runs daily. Tickets can be purchased at the valley station: jungfrau.ch
