Iseltwald sits on a small peninsula on the southern shore of Lake Brienz and is one of the most picturesque villages in the Bernese Oberland. The village with its old timber houses, tree-lined village square and turquoise water right at its doorstep gained international attention – the floating wooden platform in the lake was brought to millions of viewers by a Korean television series.

The village is perfect for quiet strolls along the lakeshore, summer swimming and boat trips on Lake Brienz. The lakeshore trail towards Giessbach offers peaceful nature and beautiful lake views. Iseltwald is also a pleasant departure point for a boat trip to the Giessbach Falls. The village is attractive year-round and heavily visited during high season.

Iseltwald is reachable by PostBus from Interlaken in around 20 minutes, or by boat from Interlaken Ost (with stop Iseltwald). By car, follow the southern shore from Interlaken via Bönigen. Parking on the edge of the village is limited – arriving early is advisable.
