The Gorge de l'Areuse is a wildly romantic rock gorge in the Neuchâtel Jura through which the Areuse river rushes between Noiraigue and Boudry. The trail through the gorge – the Sentier de l'Areuse – is one of western Switzerland's most well-known and impressive hiking routes, leading through narrow rock passages, over wooden bridges and past waterfalls directly alongside the rushing river.

The full walk through the gorge from Noiraigue to Boudry takes around 3 to 4 hours and is well secured throughout. Particularly striking are the sections just below Champ-du-Moulin, where the gorge is narrowest. In spring, when snowmelt swells the Areuse, the natural spectacle is at its greatest.

The gorge is accessible from Noiraigue or Boudry, both reachable by train from Neuchâtel in around 20–30 minutes. By car, drive from Neuchâtel via Boudry into the Val de Travers.
