Gstaad is one of Switzerland's best-known luxury holiday villages and is synonymous worldwide with alpine exclusivity, handsome timber chalets and a restrained glamour. The village in the Saanenland has preserved its village character despite its international fame: no high-rises, but well-maintained buildings, international boutiques and a loyal clientele from across the globe.

The Destination Gstaad ski area covers over 200 kilometres of pistes spread across several mountains around the Saanenland and the Simmental. In summer the village attracts a culturally and physically active audience with the Menuhin Festival, polo tournaments and hikes to the Wispile and Glacier 3000. The image of cowbells and grand hotels side by side is the most characteristic paradox of Gstaad.

Gstaad is reachable by MOB train from Montreux (around 2 hours) or from Zweisimmen (around 25 minutes). By car, take the Simmental route or the Jaun and Saane passes. Parking is available in the village and at the mountain railway stations.
