The Jungfraujoch at 3'454 metres is the highest railway station in Europe and one of Switzerland's most visited attractions. The journey on the Jungfraubahn through the mountain – past the ice windows of Eigerwand and Eismeer – is already part of the experience. At the top, visitors find a summit plateau with views of the Aletsch Glacier, the UNESCO World Heritage area and the surrounding four-thousanders.

The plateau houses the Sphinx Observatory, an Ice Palace, several restaurants, a research station and in winter a snow sports arena. The Jungfraujoch Top of Europe visit is particularly impressive in clear weather, when the Aletsch Glacier is visible in its full extent. Those wanting more than just views can join guided walks on the Aletsch Glacier.

The Jungfraujoch is reachable by Jungfraubahn from Kleine Scheidegg in around 35 minutes. Kleine Scheidegg is accessible from Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen. The total journey from Interlaken takes around 2 hours. Tickets should be booked in advance: jungfrau.ch
