The Trümmelbachfälle in the Lauterbrunnen Valley are the world's only accessible glacial waterfalls located inside a mountain. The ten cascades, through which meltwater from the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau rushes at up to 20'000 litres per second, have carved a spiral passage through the rock over thousands of years.

A tunnel lift gives access to the interior of the rock massif; from there, secured galleries and stairs lead through the individual falls. The thunder of the water, the glacially polished rock passages and the constant roar create an overwhelming atmosphere. The falls are especially impressive in early summer when glacial melt is at its peak. The experience is unique and exists nowhere else in the world in this form.

The Trümmelbachfälle are in the Lauterbrunnen Valley between Lauterbrunnen and Stechelberg, reachable by PostBus from Lauterbrunnen in around 5 minutes. Parking is available directly at the entrance. Admission is charged: truemmelbachfaelle.ch
