The Partnunsee lies in a broad hollow above St. Antönien in the Prättigau and is one of the quiet gems of the Graubünden pre-Alps. No cable car noise, no tourist infrastructure – just a flat, clear mountain lake surrounded by alpine meadows, small huts and the silhouette of the Sulzfluh and other Prättigau peaks. The absence of everything superfluous is the entire point here.

The ascent from St. Antönien takes around 1.5 hours on a well-marked trail. The lake is also the starting point for hikes over the Cavelljoch passage into the Austrian Montafon – one of the most rewarding cross-border crossings in eastern Switzerland. Those who only hike to the lake will find a working alpine dairy and can enjoy a rest with fresh local products.

St. Antönien is reachable by PostBus from Küblis. Küblis is on the Rhaetian Railway line and accessible from Chur in around 50 minutes. By car, drive from Küblis into the Prättigau.
