La Punt is a small village in the Upper Engadine east of St. Moritz, known as the starting point for the ascent into the Val Chamuera – a quiet, barely developed side valley with hiking trails to the Piz Kesch (3'418 m), one of the best-known peaks in the Albula area. The village itself is peaceful, with a small centre and a direct railway stop.

The Val Chamuera is particularly rewarding in summer and autumn – the larch stands turn intensely golden, and the solitude of the valley stands in stark contrast to the tourist activity of the neighbouring Upper Engadine. For experienced mountaineers, the Piz Kesch offers a rewarding day tour with glacier and high-alpine character.

La Punt is on the Engadine line of the Rhaetian Railway and reachable from Chur in around 1.5 hours. By car, drive along the cantonal road through the Upper Engadine. Parking in the village; hiking starting point into the Val Chamuera from La Punt station.
