The Ofenpass (Pass dal Fuorn) at 2'149 metres connects the Lower Engadine with the Münstertal (Val Müstair), crossing the entire territory of the Swiss National Park. The pass road is regarded as one of the finest mountain roads in Switzerland – along its entire length, no village, no petrol station, no distractions, just forest, rock and wilderness.

The drive over the Ofenpass offers the best opportunity to travel through the national park territory without leaving the vehicle. Deer, foxes and ibex are regularly spotted right beside the road. The pass is closed in winter and only reopens around May. At the far end of the pass in the Münstertal lies the St. John's Monastery in Müstair – a UNESCO World Heritage site with Carolingian frescoes.

The Ofenpass is reachable by car between Zernez and Santa Maria im Münstertal. By PostBus, travel from Scuol via Zernez and the Ofenpass to Müstair. The journey takes around 2 hours. The pass road is seasonally open to normal vehicles from May to October.
